Is It A Scam?
When you do your research on the site you are going to run across critics who say the site is a scam. What we have found though is that these folks seem to have an ax to grind.
Because Anastasia is the Microsoft of International Dating people like to pile on. They put out a really competitive product and they have a really good business strategy. And they have put some other sites out of business and that’s where we find most of the criticism.
Let’s talk about the business model. As we mentioned earlier, Anastasia requires its women to write a letter of introduction which describes the kind of man she wants as a mate. These tend to be fairly broad so when you sign up for the service you will get literally hundreds of emails from absurdly hot women.
If you do not have discipline (which, face it, most guys don’t) and respond to most, if not all of the introductions it will cost you a small fortune.
What you need to do instead is use the powerful search tool, find the women you want to talk to and make them a “favorite”. At this point the women will see you made them a favorite and, if they like your profile, they will send you a message. Then you can spend your money!
This does two things – you know the woman has seen you and your odds are much better than otherwise. Second, you will know she is still active on the site and you won’t be sending messages to a woman who has already been taken.
The other criticism leveled at Anastasia is the communication policy with women is handled only through the companies email server. Some guys get annoyed when they realize that they cannot take the communication offline but this is a common practice with almost all companies in the industry, foreign and domestic.
Anastasia is based in New England. We did a Better Business Bureau search and found eight complaints in the last two and a half years. Heck. my favorite pub probably had that many last month. When you are dealing with thousands of men and women and emotional attachment I’m surprised its not more, a bunch more.
Hurt feelings are one thing, money and fraud are another. We found nothing close to that in our searches.
So What Is This Going To Cost?
Anastasia is a classic pay as you go service – the more you use the service the more it costs. It is very difficult to sneak an email address or phone number in your communications. Try it too much and you can get kicked out.
Make no mistake, Anastasia is more expensive than other services that sell you an email address or a standard monthly fee. But you can make this work to your advantage.
Be smart – it only costs 10 credits to send and email and 10 credits to receive one so for the price of a couple of drinks you can tell if you should buy more credits and pursue it. But where guys spend a bunch on credits is on the videos. Yeah, the gals are smoking but at ten credits a view it can add up quickly.
Honestly, we like the credit system – it seems to weed a bunch of the bottom feeding guys out leaving more time for the gals to pay attention to us. But anyone who can’t spend two credits to find one of these wonderfully beautiful women should just go to Plenty of Fish and endure those girls.
Bottom Line
Are you a moderately successful guy living in the west and have always dreampt about dating a solid 9 or 10 without the associated baggage then Anastasia gives you a chance. If you are a gentleman with them and your intentions are sincere then you are virtually guaranteed to succeed.
There are other sites with beautiful Russian women but no site can offer you more than Anastasia. Yeah, it’s not cheap but be honest with yourself – a western 7 has a TON of baggage that a Russian 10 would not dream about. If you are serious about marrying a 9 or 10 Anastasia will be cheaper (and much more satisfying) than settling for the western 7.
